Description: There were originally issued with Grandee Cigars and are reproductions of paintings by James Dugdale, a Lancastrian who specialised in paintings of transport. The write-ups on the backs are by John Thornley OBE who was associated with the MG Car Company and the MG Car Club for many years and he gives an informative but concise history of the car and the changes in design that occurred. Card number 1 shows "Old Number One" (1923/25) which we are told was not the first MG to be made, but was built specifically for competition and the final card shows the MGB (1975-80) which was made to American specifications. Between these two cards are many racing cars of the era together with those models which have been and still are admired. This is a fine series of cards commemorating the Golden Jubilee of the MG Car Club and an album/wall chart was originally produced to house these.
The cards are size 89 x 50mm
